Coastal Anchor Bank was founded in 1873 and has served the region ever since. Coastal Anchor was founded in 1873 in Portland, Maine to lend to fishermen, lobstermen, and the chandleries that supplied them. Our charter still requires that one board seat go to a working captain.

Today we serve more than 474,000 customers across 3 branches.
